Greetings, everyone! This is Lyall Johnston and welcome to Church at Home. Church at Home is sponsored by the Christian Biblical Church of God and we are dedicated to restoring original Christianity for today.
Last time, we were asking the question: What is it that was so notable about the Brexit referendum decision and the Trump election in the United States? We made the comment that this occurred because God has given those two peoples—those of the United Kingdom and those of the United States—a moratorium, like a timeout, a hiatus, because
God has a plan, and God is very merciful, and we can turn to one Scripture in the Bible which, at Church at Home and Christian Biblical Church of God, is our primary Source of all information. If we want to find out Who God is, what is He like and what is His plan for mankind, we don't turn to what men have said and their philosophies and in their human reasoning, we turn to the Source which is the Bible, which God tells us is His Word!
Let's turn to the last book in the Bible, in fact the last book also of the New Testament, the book of Revelation. The person who wrote this was John, one of the close disciples to Jesus Christ. John was writing this while a prisoner on the Isle of Patmos. What we find as the very title of this book is found in the very first verse, Rev. 1:1.
- Who is the Author of the book of Revelation?
- Where did these revelations come from?
Revelation 1:1: "The revelation… [not of John, but]: ...of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him…" That is, God the Father gave what is written in the book of Revelation to His Son, Who is now living in heaven at the Father's right hand. He gave what is written here, to Jesus Christ.
"...to show to His servants the things that are ordained tocome to pass shortly..." (v 1). This was penned 2000 years ago. So, when is the time of this revelation? As we said in previous programs: God declares the end from the beginning! In addressing his twelve sons, Jacob—who God named Israel—said, 'I'm going to show you my twelve sons—Ephraim, Manasseh, Joseph, Reuben, Simeon, Levi and the rest—what is going to happen to you in the last days. Here in Revelation, what Jesus is writing:
"…the things that are ordained tocome to pass shortly; and He made it known, having sent it by His angel to His servant John" (v 1).
Here, bottom line: this is the revelation of Jesus Christ given through His Apostle John, which we're told is the apostle Jesus loved. John was writing this towards the end of the first century in the 90sA.D.
Understanding that, now let's turn to Rev. 10:7, and breaking into the series of events, which are going to be happening in the last days at the end-time, this is what we are told is going to occur.
Revelation 10:7: "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel… [there's the context] ...when he is about to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall also be completed, according to the Gospel that He declared to His servants the prophets."
Verse 11: "And he said to me, 'You must again prophesy against many people...'"
When we tie that in with Matthew 24:14: "And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed... [Mark 13:10 says 'published'] ...in all the world for a witness to all nations..."
Many, claiming to be Christian churches today, say that unless you are saved today, then you are condemned to hell and destruction. That's not what Jesus was saying. He said that the Gospel would be preached as "…a witness to all nations, and then shall the end come" (v 14).
There's more to that story and it has to do with the Sabbath Day and the Holy Days of God. You can obtain a copy from us of the book called Occult Holidays or God's Holy Days—Which? That gives you the plan and the context of which the end-times are going to take place. In fact, the total plan of God is wrapped up in the knowledge, the understanding and the keeping of those days. Without that knowledge, you simply cannot understand prophesy.
Revelation 10:11: "And he said to me, 'You must again prophesy against many people...'"—as a witness (Matt. 24), not to convert the nations. That is knowledge that is not understood by traditional Christianity. Today is not the only day of salvation! Point of fact! Point of truth! That has to be repeated over and over again, because of the lie that 'unless you receive Jesus Christ today in your heart, then you're doomed.' Not what God teaches! If you want to turn to the Bible and believe what God says—which in most cases is contrary to the doctrines and the teachings of traditional Christianity, both Catholicism and Protestantism—then you need that book.
Also, at the same time, you could request a copy of our new book, From a Speck of Dust to a Son of God: Why Were You Born? That's an amazing book! There's so much in there that you read it; you'll find it amazing, encouraging and uplifting, because in that, the Truth of the Word of God is understood of what God is doing, contrary to what most churches, most religions, are teaching today.
Again, "...You must again prophesy against many people… [individuals] ...and nations, and languages and kings" (v 11). This is something that Jesus Christ gave to John, His apostle, His friend, the one He loved. But, you see, that Word never got out in the days of John. John, shortly after this was martyred.
This is a message for the end-time. As we were told in Gen. 48, Jacob was talking to his twelve sons said, 'These are the things that are going to be happening to you in the last days.' What he said is happening and is occurring! Many of the prophesies of the Bible show what the modern descendants of ancient Israel were going to suffer. This includes the United Kingdom, who we know today as the British Commonwealth, which was once the British Empire—namely the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Also, the prophesies were to Manasseh, who today is the United States.
These are prophesies that Jesus Christ said must be proclaimed. Again, as we've said, the prophesies are not from us as individuals; the prophesies are those words that were given to the servants of God of old. Those prophets, both of the Old Testament and primarily the Major Prophet of the New Testament—and also the One Who gave the prophesies to the prophets of the Old Testament—those are the words that the servants of God today must take to the nations.
As we stated, this is one of the reasons for the current moratorium, for the current hiatus, time to take these prophesies to 'all people, all nations, languages and kings.'
- Does that include you?
- Does that include me?
- Do we stand outside any of those categories?
You may not be a king. You may not be a political leader, but you are a person whom God knows and whom God is aware of. So, this is a message for you and this is a message for me. God has given us time because God, today, is calling people.
- Why would we say that?
- Why would we say that today God is calling a people?
- What is He calling them from?
- What is He calling them for?
- What happens to be the condition that God is calling us from?
or
- What are the conditions in our nation and in our nations, those who are the descendants of Ephraim, the people of the British Isles and the descendants scattered around the world?
- What is the message?
The message is, as we'll read in Matt. 24—we've already mentioned this—that this is one of the great prophesies in the Bible given by Jesus Christ, the Son of God Himself. The 24th chapter of Matt. is called the Olivet Prophesy. In this chapter, Jesus is responding to the question by His disciples:
Matthew 24:3: "...'Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming....?'" What they're referring to is the return of Jesus Christ. Not like the first time, as a human being, but this time, as the King of all kings and Lord of all lords, with all power and all authority to rule over the kingdoms of men!
Today Jesus Christ is not ruling over the kingdoms of men. Oh, yes, He's very much in control, but He allows us free moral agency to make choices and do as we will. That is what has led mankind into the terrible conditions that we're facing today. Here is a message for you and for me.
Verse 4: "Then Jesus answered and said to them, 'Be on guard, so that no one deceives you.'" There was so much deception at the time of the Brexit referendum, June 23. Much deception! Many lies! The outcome was totally unexpected by many, but again, God is the One Who has an involvement in these situations.
- Who was it that really delivered the British Isles from the threat of the Third Reich?
- Was it men?
No! When we look at many of the efforts that we put forth as men, we failed horribly!
- Who was it that gave favorable weather conditions? Who was it that intervened in so many incidents which were unexplainable, to give us the victory over a tyrannical enemy?
You answer that question, but if you leave God out of the equation:
- Can you really give an answer to that question?
- A genuine answer?
- A real answer?
or
- Will you be just speculating?
I'll leave you with that question!
"…'Be on guard… [Why should you be on guard?] ...so that no one deceives you'" (v 4). Here's the Son of God in the flesh on earth giving instruction of wisdom, of understanding and knowledge that we need: "...Be on guard, so that no one deceives you." (v 4). He had a reason for saying that and that comes to us in the next verse.
Verse 5: "For many shall come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ'…" Yes, that they even claim that Jesus is the Christ, but notice the astounding statement that He makes next. Even though they say that, 'Yes, Jesus is the Christ':
"...and they shall deceive... [not the few but]: ...many" (v 5). Have you been deceived? Oh, no! No one could deceive me! I'm wise! I'm full of knowledge! I can make my own decisions! I suppose we've all thought that at times, but are you able to be deceived? If you, even by the slimmest chance, believe that there is a God and that He has given us His Word, then this is what He says to us. He says this to all mankind.
Revelation 12:9: "…Satan… [we are also told by God is the 'god' of this world] …who is deceiving the whole world…"
Unless God is calling you out of this world, then you are deceived. The 'calling out' of this world is, the calling us out of the deception of Satan! Satan has got this whole world in prison, like in a concentration camp. He has fed us his lies from the very time we were born. We grew up believing his lies, such as, Christmas and Sunday is now the Sabbath of God. God's Holy Days, that's all Jewish. Lies! That's all for the Jews; that's not for Christians today. That is a lie, because God's Holy Days do not belong to the Jews! The Sabbath Day does not belong to the Jews! God says, 'These are My Sabbath Days!' (Lev. 23). He outlines them all, beginning with the Sabbath. Then, going through each of His annual Sabbath Days.
Again, I'd like to mention that you request from us our book, Occult Holidays or God's Holy Days—Which? You will find out where those days actually give God's plan for the salvation for all mankind. Contrary to what is taught by traditional Christianity. They don't understand it, because they refuse to keep God's Holy Days and His Sabbath, because even they—yes, traditional Christianity—comes under Rev. 12:9, which we've mentioned so many times that 'Satan has deceived the whole world!'
Do the traditional churches have any Truths? Yes, but they also have a lot of half-truths and they also have a lot of the traditions of men, the very thing that Jesus Christ condemns the Jewish leaders, the Pharisees and the Sadducees in His day! If Jesus were here today, do you think that He would be received by the Catholic Church and by Protestantism? What do you think? There are many Scriptures that show you how He would be received. If Jesus Christ would come back now, He would be teaching the same things that He taught back at the beginning of the first century: You keep the Sabbath Day. you keep the Passover, which He kept, all the Holy Days and many other laws and commandments of God, which come directly from the Old Testament. Those are the things that Jesus Christ taught. He was the One Who gave those laws and commandments to ancient Israel.
Here we are, the United Kingdom, descendants of Ephraim, part of the full house of Israel. Those same laws and teachings apply to us today. In fact, they apply to all nations. One of the reasons for this moratorium, this hiatus is so that we will have the opportunity of listening to the prophesies of both the Old Testament and the New Testament, that we will actually see how that we have been deceived, and we will turn and we will repent before God our Maker, of our moral corruption!
How do we find out about where we're morally corrupt? We could begin with Exo. 20, with the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are still in force today. Any preacher, any minister, any priest who says that those Ten Commandments have been done away and all we need to do is follow the 'spirit,' we don't need the Ten Commandments, is a liar and the Truth is not in him. That's a fact of God and is contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ Himself. That's why Jesus said:
Matthew 24:4 "...Be on guard, so that no one deceives you. For many shall come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ'; and they shall deceive many" (vs 4-5).
Then He talks about there being wars, nations rising against nations, famines, pestilences and earthquakes! Are we experiencing those today perhaps more that at any other time in our memory? Jesus said that these are all the 'beginning of sorrows,' not to mention the Islamization of our nation, not to mention of the downward spiral of morals within our own nation. Then it says:
Verse 9: "Then shall they deliver you… [talking to the disciples] ...up to affliction, and shall kill you..." Why should they kill the disciples of Christ? Because of the message they were bringing, which was exactly the same message that Jesus Christ taught!
"...and you shall be hated by all nations for My name's sake" (v 9). Anyone who's going to follow Christ will be hated and many will be martyred, put to death.
Verse 11: "And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many; and because lawlessness shall be multiplied, the love of many shall grow cold" (vs 11-12). Is that not an indictment of our generation? Of our nation?
Verse 13: "But the one who endures to the end, that one shall be saved…. [the reason for the moratorium]: ...And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed in all the world for a witness… [not just to the descendants of modern Israel, but]: ….to all nations… [he servants of God are to take this Gospel of the Kingdom of God into all nations] ...and then shall the end come'" (vs 13-14).
It would seem very evident that this is a very real reason for this timeframe that has been opened up to the Church of Jesus Christ, which He said He would build and that would continue to endure until He returned to this earth again. There are many other things that Jesus had to say to us.
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is to be preached. What is the basis of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God? It all begins with the subject of knowing Who and what God is! We have a publication called God or No God. That's a publication that you need to have. Also, to answer that question we encourage you to go online to truthofgod.org and churchathome.org to follow up on this topic. These are all our own, individual choices that you must make, that I must make. Each one of us is responsible before God and how we live our lives according to what God says He requires from us, what He wants from us.
God really is merciful. God wants to bless us. Does that at all make sense? Today God is pictured as an angry God, as an angry Being, that He just wants to destroy us. That's far from the truth. When you come right down to it, God wants to bless us and all the troubles that we face, all the trials, all the pain, all the hatred, all the fear, all the terror, we bring it upon ourselves. God gives the answer: Because you have refused to obey My voice'
Today, we have much coming under the title of Christianity, but it is a Christianity that primarily is void of understanding of the message of God through the Scriptures. You might ask, 'Why is that?' The answer happens to be, in the Words of God, because you have refused to obey My voice!'
If you can put aside all that you have been taught in the past so that you can actually examine everything that you have been taught or learned in the past, and then set about proving what you believe with the Scriptures, when you come to the Scriptures that contradict the paradigms, the beliefs and the teachings that you have received from others, or received from a church, or received from some philosopher, if it doesn't agree with the Word of God:
- Would you be prepared to change?
- Would you be prepared to obey what God says when you read it?
The decision is in your hands! No one can make that decision for you! But be aware that if you make a decision to turn from the way of life that you have been living, when you find that it is contrary to the way of God, you will face opposition. You may even have to stand alone! That's unfortunately where many people give up the pursuit of seeking God, of knowing God, of understanding Him and understanding His ways.
However, if you make a decision that you are going to turn to God and obey His Word, He has promised
- to stand there with you
- to stand there for you
- to be your shield
- to be your protection
- to be your guide
- to be your helper
- to bless you
- to help you
The rewards for that are so much greater than any wealth or anything that this world has to offer. The rewards don't come from men, they come from the God of creation Who owns and posses all things. The one thing He wants to do is to bless you!
The question that remains is this: Do you want His blessing? I'll leave you with that thought. Turn to the Word of God, you can actually read the Word of God online if you go to the website: afaithfulversion.org, which is a Faithful Version by translated from the original languages and most accurate, also easy to be read.
Once again, this is Lyall Johnston saying thank you for inviting me into your homes and until next time, goodbye, everyone.
